The Gers users group

Studies

The fields studied in the Gers within the framework of the program GeoTraceAgri are:

  • the wine field,
  • the field cereal, and more exactly the wheat production.

The specificity of these fields lies in the fact that producers and groups of producers with which we work are opened with the idee of reasoned agriculture. The implemented conditions of contract were defined by agricultural cooperatives from the general principles of the reasoned agriculture:

  • conditions of contract VRC Vinéalis (Controlled Reasoned Vine growing) for the vine growing,
  • conditions of contract CRC (Controlled Reasoned Culture) for the production of wheat.

The developed indicators will handle thus mainly problems connected to the reasoned agriculture. The current preoccupations expressed by Terre de Gascogne concern mainly:

  • the assistance to the follow-up of contract conditions,
  • the identification of the sensitive zones (water pollution, erosion, diseases) to adapt as much as possible the production methods to the capacities of the environment,
  • the display and the follow-up of the various types of productions and plots of land under contracts.
Besides, the Gers is also strongly concerned by the problem of water pollution by nitrates with a big part its territory classified in vulnerable zone. We shall also approach thus this problem within the framework of the development of indicators.
