Method standardization
The acquisition, the processing and the visualization of the data used in calculation and the development of spatial indicators of the geotraceability require the development of standardized methodologies.
These methodologies make it possible to structure information coming from various sources, various contexts, various levels of quality of information and various scales of observation in order to integrate them in a space database being used for the follow-up of the chain of production. The standard must be in conformity with a norm (if it exists) and represents with reliability the indicators which are attached to.
The determination of these standards allows a homogeneous definition of the indicators, which is absolutely essential to be able to make valid comparisons and extrapolations with other contexts. It should be announced that a considerable effort is carried out in Europe for a standardization of methodologies, the countries working to harmonize their own standard towards a European standard accepted by all the Member States.
